The sight of an off-road track near a Hummer dealership isn’t all that uncommon in the United States — it shouldn’t be since GM requires all dealers to have a demonstration area. However, the sight of such a track in South Africa is sure to get the residents talking. GM recently spent about R1-million (roughly $130,000 US Dollars) on an “extreme” test track at its plant in Struandale, Port Elizabeth. As with its American counterparts, the tracks are used to show customers the maximum capabilities of the Hummer. NOTE: the article points out the track has a 60-degree upslope — They meant 60 percent. Big difference (and one of my pet peeves).
