The day before the charity auction, organizers were “optimistically hoping” for the Hummer to go for 6 figures. Yesterday they were blown away when the founder of Remax, Dave Liniger, put in the final bid of $1 million. At that point, the business man he was bidding against, “turned around, he put his arms around me and he says, ‘Hey, you buy the car, you get the car. I’ll add 250 to it.’” The proceeds to the Fisher House Foundation, a group that builds homes for families of hospitalized military personnel. Liniger himself is a Vietnam Veteran.
