Team HUMMER and Robby Gordon Motorsports are making a last-minute driver change for the 2010 Dakar race that starts in just a few days, and the new driver is famed trophy truck driver B.J. Baldwin.

Baldwin replaces Ronn Bailey in the #351 Vanguard HUMMER H3, one of the three HUMMERs that Gordon’s team is fielding in the treacherous off-road race in South America.

In 2008, Baldwin took second place in the trophy truck class at the Baja 1000, and still managed to win the overall SCORE Trophy Truck Championship that year. In 2009, Baldwin suffered an accident and lost all is forward gears, forcing him to dropout midway through the Baja 1000, and Robby Gordon’s strong finish made him the 2009 SCORE Trophy Truck Championship winner.

Gordon and Baldwin are used to racing against each other and winning championships – now we’ll see what they can do together as Team HUMMER at the 2010 Dakar!
