Hummer Guy Hummer News and Opinion from an experienced off-road instructor
As the official vehicle of England Rugby, as well as a sponsor of several major equestrian events, Land Rover has an enormous amount of exposure in the UK. And, with over 250 sales and service locations in England alone, Land Rovers aren’t hard to find. So here’s my question – how does a car company that has so much ubiquity avoid the negative press? Hummer is set to open only 5 showrooms in the entire UK to sell the right-handed drive Hummer H3 – a vehicle that gets better gas mileage than the Land Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and the Land Rover LR3. How does a vehicle that gets comparable (in some cases better!) gas mileage and has far fewer locations get negative press from several news and blog sites (Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4, Example 5)? This is one Greenpeace rep said:
“I’m absolutely astounded it is choosing to launch Hummer in the UK now. They are monstrous, appalling, gas-guzzling beasts which have no place on our city streets.”
The Hummer is always going to be a brand that is singled out, sometimes unjustly. We’ve accepted that fact, but will still point out certain facts from time to time as we see fit. GM’s Vice Chair Bob Lutz is doing the same thing. Fuel Economy stats provided by FuelEconomy.gov.
i think its brilliant that GM want to expand HUMMER across the UK and i think that to get their message across they should have adverts on UK television and in UK vehicle magazines and have comparisons of the H3 and the landrovers. i also would like to know where they are going to put the other dealerships in the UK as the current one, Bauer Milett, or HUMMER Manchester, as its now called is on the ither side of the country from me, im in the south east and manchester is in the north west, it took us 4 hours to get there!
Hahaha! Another thing noone likes about America- Its expansion of HUMMER! Well Britian, get used to it, because in case you hadn’t noticed, HUMMERs pwn Rovers… Sorry!

great, there is already a dealer in london but it is not recognised by GM, maybe they found out about it and are going to make it official, nobody knows
