When dealers around the country and around the world received the message that a “wind down” of the HUMMER brand was imminent, most were trying to decide what to do with the cash buyouts from GM and what to do with their remaining inventory and expensive, unique facilities. We know of at least one HUMMER dealer who has decided to stand with the brand as long as possible.
Ken Batchelor HUMMER in San Antonio is purchasing new 2010 H3s and H3Ts from all over the country from dealers who are liquidating as fast as possible. At least twenty trucks arrived last week from as far as Florida.
Vehicles aren’t the only items Batchelor HUMMER is stocking up on, they’re also stocking up on parts and accessories that will become increasingly scarce.
The San Antonio store isn’t in denial that the flow of new HUMMERs inventory will eventually cease, but when there are none left, the dealership intends to turn their showroom into a pre-owned HUMMER outlet.
Ken Batchelor HUMMER is part of the Sewell Automotive Group based in Dallas, where the Sewell family of dealerships have two other HUMMER locations that will be turned into other franchises. The Dallas store, at one point the #1 HUMMER dealership in the nation, will become Sewell Subaru – and the deconstruction of the signature “H” has already taken place (see pics).

Sad, sad, sad. Its admirable that this dealer is so passionate about the brand as we are though. Funny, I was just looking at Sewell’s website last night too. The prices on there are some of the fairest i’ve seen. Most dealers try to get every penny they can out of a HUMMER sale. THANK YOU SEWELL.
yea, maybe we’ll see hummer parts in classic industries sometime down the road!!!

Does anyone know how long GM will (or will be required) to provide parts?
I DON’T THINK THE DEALERS THREW IN THE TOWEL. I BELIEVE IT WAS GM THAT FOLDED UNDER THE PRESSURE FROM THE GOVERMENT. MANY DEALERS STAYED THE COURSE TILL GM SAID IT WAS DONE AND THAT WAS IT. WE STIL STOCK MORE USED H2’S AND H3’S THAN ANYTHING ELSE WE CARRY. IT IS STILL CURRENTLY OVER 25% OF OUR BUSINESS MONTHLY. WE ARE STILL IN THE HUMMER BUSINESS, JUST USED NOT NEW.
Any news on the purchase of hummer and new production?
There will be no new production – so if you want a new one – now is the time to act.

Hummer back? Hopefully that is the reason for GM’s bumble of the sale.Maybe when all the negative thoughts of the brand,gas prices drop again and the “Green Mob” have other things to go after we will see a resurrected Hummer and new models to fill out product line.
Hummers Is the only name GM has with off road capability. Still can’t believe it’s going away !! Let’s hope it doesn’t die
Gerry Lane Hummer in Baton Rouge still has a good supply of H3 and H3t in stock. I recently purchased one there. They are actively supporting Hummer giving good amounts for trades, etc. They recently had a few of the last new H2 left in the country. Although there is a Mitsubishi sports car in the Hummer showroom, there are still plenty of Hummer prescence at this dealership.
