Wheelers everywhere are mourning the loss today of a 7 year old boy who was shot and killed last week while on an off road adventure with his family Northeast of Houston.
Donald Coffey Jr. was riding with his 5-year-old sister and family friend while his father drove through an area with dirt roads and heavy brush that was commonly used for off-road activities. Sheila Muhs, a nearby resident, mistakenly thought the group was on their property and shot at the group with a 12-guage shotgun. Then, Sheila handed the gun over to her husband Gayle who fired a second shot.
Donald Coffey Sr. was shot in his shoulder and his daughter, Destiny, suffered a wound to the elbow. Family friend Patrick Cammack is still in serious condition with a head wound according to a hospital spokesperson.
The Muhs, who have a sign that reads, “Trespassers will be shot. Survivers will be reshot!! Smile I will,” outside their home are currently being held on a ridiculously low $25,000 bail each. Authorities are considering upgrading the aggravated assault charges to murder – and we hope they do.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to see the Texas Justice System take care of the Muhs.

They’re the ones to be shot. That family didn’t know. Usually you don’t fire a gun at someone like that. Very sad story. 🙁
