After just a year on the job as the director of GM’s Premium Divisions (Cadillac, Saab, and HUMMER), Mark McNabb has resigned and will leave GM on June 1st.
McNabb came from Nissan to work at General Motors in May of 2008, and according to GM, McNabb left on his own accord. “He elected to pursue other career opportunities,” said spokesperson Klaus-Peter Martin, “A big part had to do with he wanted to be closer to his family.”
GM Premium Sales Manager Stephen J. Hill will take over McNabb’s responsibilities in the interim. This announcement comes just a day after we learned Ex HUMMER General Manager Martin Walsh would also be leaving General Motors.
This week would be a great time for GM to release some more information about a pending HUMMER deal – thus providing some hope to HUMMER’s future amid several top executives jumping ship. Just a thought.
