The longest off-road race in the United States is underway today, and after everything went well with tech and contingency yesterday, the HUMMER H3 and H3 Alpha race trucks are set to tackle the Best in the Desert’s Vegas to Reno race.
Rod Hall Racing is entering the two H3s in the stock classes, where competitors must keep the vehicles stock engine, steering components, frame, etc. Piloting the 4100 class H3 Alpha is Chad Hall, and fresh off the H2 SUT’s race in Australia, Thad Stump will be co-piloting the Alpha.
Emily Miller, who ironmaned the 1000 mile, three-day race last year in the yellow H2, will be driving the 3100 class H3 I5. Co-driving with Emily is Sam Cothrun, owner of Samco Fabrication and the person responsible for prepping Rod Hall Racing vehicles.
