HUMMER H3T Storage Box Product Showcase

H3TStorageBoxSmallFullLengthFEATUREDThe HUMMER H3T was only produced for two model years – 2009 and 2010, though when it debuted it had more custom-built accessory options than any other HUMMER. General Motors partnered early with some of the best aftermarket-accessory providers in world. Among them was Papp Plastics, who was selected to produce a variety of storage options for the bed of the H3T.

Before any truck accessory can be officially licensed by General Motors, it must go through a number of quality checks and tests to make sure it’s rugged and durable enough to stand up to either the job site, a camping trip, or a trail cleanup day.

The storage boxes have 30-percent thicker walls than the industry standard thanks to the injection molding process, and each one also comes standard with locks which can be coded to operate off the ignition key to your truck (wonder when the gas door folks will learn that trick…).

The best way to get a hold of one of these boxes is to call or visit your nearest HUMMER dealer, though any local GM store’s parts department is capable of ordering these provided they have the right part numbers (below).

1) Carry Off – GM Part Number: 19166993 $299 Dimensions: 26 x 12 x 12 in.
2) Full Width – GM Part Number: 19166992 $599 Dimensions: 50 x 19 x 17 in.
3) Full Length – GM Part Number: 19166991 $599 Dimensions: 55 x 17 x 12 in.

Boxes also featured in the first H3T commercial:

The crew at Papp Plastics sent us a full-width storage box for review purposes, and although we couldn’t make use of it in the project H3, we’ve found it makes a hell of an ice-chest. Rumor has it GM almost added a drain plug – which could probably be added relatively easily w/ a few spare parts from Home Depot.

  1. I absolutely loved “the open” commercial. Dammit, why can’t a new company come forth to buy HUMMER?

  2. Thank you so much for this review. I have searched high and low on the internet looking for a little more info about these boxes and especially their sizes.

  3. Long live HUMMERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I bought a full width box and it has started to separate where the top of the box is molded to the bottom part of the box. It’s still structurally sound but it’s leaking badly. Has anyone else had this problem with these Papp boxes and if so, how did you fix it. I’ve sent an email to Papp to see what if anything they can do.

Except for the fact it leaks, the box is great. Easy to attach and it only cost me $35.00 to key the locks to my truck key.

  5. I’m on my second tool box and this one is leaking too. Don’t buy one of these things. They look cool, but they aren’t worth the money if they don’t keep the weather out.
